Safety Valve on LPG Storage Tank

The safety valve plays an important role in the outcome of a fire impingement. It performs the safe discharge and avoiding a lot of over heated liquid producing by releasing the inside pressure of the LPG Storage Tanks.The safety valve on the tanks should be the type of spring full open and obtration.

The tanks with volume of 100 m3 or more should be fixed with two or more safety valves which connect discharge tubes. The diameter of discharge tubes should not be less than that of the valve exits. The nozzle of discharge tubes should be 2 m higher than the operation flat of LPG storage tanks and 5m higher than ground.Also,a valve must be fixed between the relief valves and tanks.

With the increase in the use of LPG,some accidents of fire and explosion increases.More efficient protective measures should be studied further.The safety valve will open when the pressure in the LPG Storage Tank is full so that avoid the explosion accure.
