Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is a mixture of hydrocarbons, used as a fuel in heaters and vehicles, and is increasingly replacing chlorofluorocarbons as aerosol propellants and refrigerants. To reduce the damage to the ozone layer.

Liquefied petroleum gas is a mixture of propane and butane, usually accompanied by a small amount of propylene and butenes. Liquefied petroleum gas was first produced by Dr. Walter Snelling in 1910 and the first commercial product appeared in 1912. Liquefied petroleum gas now provides 3% of U.S. energy consumption.
